James Garner and Lois Fleishman Clarke met in 1956 at a political rally. They married two weeks after meeting and have been married ever since. In Garner's memoir, The Garner Files, he says 

"It was love at first sight. The 'thunderbolt.' She was as beautiful as she was sweet... I was nuts about her from the moment we met. Still am."

Charles Boyer was so despondent when his wife Pat Paterson died that he committed suicide just two days later.
