Check out the list of upcoming titles that Laura of Laura's Miscellaneous Musings posted. She included one very interesting title that I missed! A Spencer Tracy biography, that will be an interesting read indeed.

Wow, what an interesting collection of books! I will definintely be investing in many of them. Thanks for this list!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the heads up! I've read the Nicholas Ray biography and it was an excellent read. There was so much about Ray I didn't know - a very interesting character with a dramatic life. It would be a great buy to get on sale. I'll have to check out some of those other reads.
ReplyDeleteSuper excited about the James Garner book!
ReplyDeleteAnd Piper Laurie's memoirs also looks interesting!
Thanks for the link, Raquelle, and for the heads up on so many interesting titles! It should be a great fall/Christmas reading season. :)
ReplyDeleteBest wishes,
Laura
The Piper Laurie and James Garner memoirs really interest me, as they do come from the actors themselves. And I must say it will be interesting to see Cary Grant from Dyan Cannon's point of view
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for compiling all of these into one post. My Amazon wishlist just got a little longer.
ReplyDeleteNot sure if you're aware, but Cary Grant: A Life in Pictures is written by Jenny Curtis (jennythenipper) who runs the blog Cinema OCD. Pretty cool!
I can't wait for Dear Cary. This is a great list!
ReplyDeletei'll have to pick up that book on Nick Ray. i read his book "I Was Interrupted" but its not really a bio, more of a rambling, still great but def like to know more of his life overall.
ReplyDeleteHi, folk! How are you? I’m here because I have a blog about classic movies and I would like you to pass by and see if you enjoy. The address is http://www.criticaretro.blogspot.com/ I’m waiting for you! Lê ^_^
ReplyDeleteI know you don't do the award thing, but I am acknowledging "Out of the Past" with the Liebster blog award. I'm not requiring anyone to participate. No action required - just congrats on the always excellent posting.
ReplyDeleteThank you Robby
ReplyDeleteI love this blog. :D I love the old classics - that's all I ever watch.
ReplyDeleteLook like some good ones in the list. I just wrote about the new Glenn Ford bio, too.
ReplyDeleteothers to add:
ReplyDelete-Myrna Loy: The Only Good Girl in Hollywood by Emily W. Leider (hope it's as good as her Mae West and Valentino bios!)
-Falling Stars: 10 Who Tried to be a Movie Star by David W. Menefee
-Ghosts of Gone with the Wind by Gene Arceri
-The Case Files of the Oriental Sleuths: Charlie Chan, Mr. Moto, and Mr. Wong by David Rothel
oooh.. adding the Jane Fonda one to my amazon wishlist!
ReplyDeleteHi! What a great list!
