NPR did a retrospect on the moment 40 years ago (1968) when the Hays Code was done away with in favor of a rating system instead.

Thanks that was really interesting. I recently read a terrific book on the Hays Code: "The Dame in the Kimono: Hollywood, Censorship, and the Production Code: by Leonard J. Leff and Jerold L. Simmons.
