Casablanca (1942) Round-Up

I'm surprised how few posts there are on Casablanca (1942). Here are the only ones I could find from my list of favorite bloggers. If you love this film, you should really take a moment out to dedicate a post about it! If you have a post on Casablanca that you'd like me to link here, drop me a line!

I have a special Casablanca post coming up so stay tuned!

  1. Wow, I'm surprised this is all we have, too! Thank you so much for linking my Floating Heads post! And I'm very happy to see Caitlin's amazing Casablanca post here. I learned so much about it from her one post. Can't wait to see your post!

  3. I wrote about Casablanca a while ago: here's my review if you'd like to add it to your list.

I think my intro gets at the reason you don't see much writing about this film: it's such an established classic, such an unavoidable film, that it's hard to think of what can be said that hasn't been said already a million times over.

  4. NoirGirl - It's Caitlin's post that got me to do this round-up. It's a great one! I was hoping there were more...

Mercurie - As we discussed on Twitter, it seems like most of the favorites are ignored!

Ed - I see what you mean but I think a classic like Casablanca gives us opportunities to look at it at different angles. Or to talk about it in different ways because it's so well-known. I'm surprised that more bloggers don't at least have a post on their own thoughts on the film. That in itself is unique to each person. I added your link. Thank you so much!

  6. Nice spotlight! I wrote about Casablanca awhile ago when I watched it at home after missing the Valentine's Day screening at the Brattle. Nothing special about the post, just letting you know that there's at least one more person who wrote about it!

Looking forward to your "special Casablanca post"!

  7. I'm surprised as well that there are so few Casablanca posts, but Ed is probably right; I'm sure a lot of people feel, as I did before I wrote mine, that there's just nothing left to say on the topic. Hopefully your round-up will inspire others to prove that theory wrong.

Thanks so much for the kind words about my post! I'm honored to see you say that it gave you such a great idea.

  9. Thanks for sharing these links. I've been surfing for something new to tweet on Casablanca for tonight's TCM 6PM ET showing--the definitive classic movie for me. I found you through one of my fave followers KateGabrielle. I'd love it if you'd send your Casablanca post.

Leave me a comment! If it is a long one, make sure you save a draft of it elsewhere just in case Google gobbles it up and spits it out.
