Out of the Past, Into the Now ~ Amy Adams as Rita Hayworth

I really like Amy Adams. Especially after I saw the film Miss Pettigrew Lives for Day (2008), which just happens to be the theme of my new blog header. I like Amy Adams even more now with the November issue of Vanity Fair. She channels Rita Hayworth from Gilda (1946) in the photographs accompanying an article about her. They are stunning. Makes me want to break out and sing "Put the Blame on Mame". The video posted on Vanity Fair's website shows the photo session and the different Rita Hayworth-esque poses she did in the black dress and black gloves. Check it out!

  1. Gosh! Amy Adams is a swell looking dame indeed! A new face to me...
I'd better take a look at that Miss Pettigrew movie. She makes me think of Catherine Deneuve, another swell looking dame...

  2. Jonas - "Swell" is the best word ever. I think you would like Miss Pettigrew Lives for a Day. It's the type of film a Classic Film fan would enjoy.

  3. Have seen her in Mrs. Peetigrew & Enchanted, & I think she is going to be a big big star.

BTW Mrs.Pettigrew is an excellent film. We had seen it in the theatre & it took me almost seeing the whole film to realize the piano playing boyfriend was Lee Pace, the actor from "Pushing Daisies", who also I think will be a huge star.

  4. Hi Roy!

I agree - both Amy Adams and Lee Pace have "the next big thing" just oozing out of their pores. I was impressed by both of them in Mrs. Pettigrew Lives for a Day.
