Hollywood Cemetery Tour

Hollywood Forever Cemetery
On the last day of my California trip in March, Laura of Laura's Miscellaneous Musings generously offered to  take Carlos and I to two Hollywood cemeteries: Hollywood Forever and Westwood Village Memorial Park. It's been a dream of mine to pay my respects to those from the golden age of Hollywood who have left us. Here are some photos from our tour.

Cecil B. DeMille and his family

Adolphe Menjou and Verree Teasdale

Fay Wray

Hattie McDaniel's memorial
The birds at Hollywood Forever Cemetery are very aggressive. This angry fellow chased me away from McDaniel's memorial!

  1. Gosh, thank you so much for these wonderful photos. Lovely memorials.

  2. I am endlessly fascinated by cemeteries. Always have been. I visited Westwood once before when my family and I toured California and I couldn't believe how small and tucked away it was! It was so lovely, calm, and serene. My favourite tombstone was Jack Lemmon's :)

I am DYING (pun intended) to visit Hollywood Forever!! If I ever make it to LA for TCMFF, I am definitely going to visit that cemetery. For sure.

  3. Wish I had been able to visit when I was there - thanks so much for sharing these fascinating memorials. I love how distinctive and interesting some of them are. Glad you got a chance to visit these places!

  4. Loved your beautiful pics, Raquel -- thank you so much for sharing them. I went to Hollywood Forever last year (I missed seeing Adolphe Menjou, though!), and I really want to see some other cemeteries next year. Some of those headstones at Westwood were the GREATEST!

  5. Gorgeous collection of photos, thanks so much.

Leave me a comment! If it is a long one, make sure you save a draft of it elsewhere just in case Google gobbles it up and spits it out.
