Holden and Niven are great. It is so funny, I found myself laughing out loud the second time I watched it. If you can find a copy, I highly recomend it. If you can't, let me know and I can get a copy to you.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6155853741712764167.post-47132322566589571252008-09-02T09:55:00.000-04:002008-09-02T09:55:00.000-04:00Steve-O,I actually do really love Mildred Pierce. ...Steve-O,

I actually do really love Mildred Pierce. I tend to watch that film at least once a year. Zachary Scott. unbelievable) and Sudden Fear. Outside of them Crawford is pure camp (Flamingo Road is a good example when she's supposed to be playing a young exotic dancer).

watch the clip about film noir here http://tinyurl.com/66pt5n and you'll see that scene from Mildred Pierce.teshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18269621816095156033noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6155853741712764167.post-46806428000239622752008-09-01T06:28:00.000-04:002008-09-01T06:28:00.000-04:00Oh, I love Otto Preminger...and in my, uh, 'study'...Oh, I love Otto Preminger...and in my, uh, 'study' of Dana Andrews, I've got DAISY KENYON in my Netflix queue too.

But I'm also leery of anything involving Joan Crawford.

I think I saw MOMMIE DEAREST one too many times as a child.

I hope you're well, and having a great Labor Day weekend. :)Ginger Ingenuehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06904339551806493214noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6155853741712764167.post-5367475016633628352008-08-31T20:01:00.000-04:002008-08-31T20:01:00.000-04:00This week's Noir of the Week is another Preminger....This week's Noir of the Week is another Preminger... Joan Crawford is good in it.

'Saint Joan' is harder to get, I think it came out in Europe only. I'm a bit iffy about anything with Joan Crawford in it.

I'm watching as much as time will allow as well as what is available on DVD and on Netflix. Saint Joan wasn't on Netflix, thus wasn't a selection. I'll keep an eye out for it though.Raquel Stecherhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02687110907002450794noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6155853741712764167.post-62415503395751956082008-08-30T15:50:00.000-04:002008-08-30T15:50:00.000-04:00I watched 'Daisy Kenyon' recently - it was kind of...I watched 'Daisy Kenyon' recently - it was kind of billed as a Film Noir but for me it was more like a melodrama.

Enjoy your Preminger watching, are you skipping 'Saint Joan'?Richard Gibsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01066768498277216645noreply@blogger.com
