Get Your Read On

Since I work in the book industry, I feel a responsibility to talk about the wealth of great books out there on classic films. Yes! Everything from actor biographies, classic film studies to the personal film experience. Here are a few upcoming books that I would like to point out as potentially of interest to classic film fans. What better way to spend that stimulus check and buy some of these books from your local independent bookstore? The links below are all directed to a great local indie, Brookline Booksmith. Enjoy.

  1. Hey, swell blog! Have you read Clara Bow: Runnin' Wild by David Stenn? It's one of the best movie star bios I've read. Just thought I'd pass that on. Keep consuming the classics!

  2. Who's book number 6 about? I can't get the link to work.

I'm currently researching for a bio myself.

    ...

    Hope all is well! :)

  4. Hey Sloan - Thanks for visiting my site. I'll definitely be visiting your site. I've never read the Clara Bow bio. I'm not terribly familiar with the "IT" girl. Maybe this book is my way of changing that.

Hey Ginger - It's about Rosamond Pinchot. Just plug the ISBN into your favorite search engine for more info!

  5. I own the Steve McQueen book and I love it! Everybody needs a good coffee table book with black and white photos and that one is mine.

Leave me a comment! If it is a long one, make sure you save a draft of it elsewhere just in case Google gobbles it up and spits it out.
